What we're up to...

Hello everyone! So this is what has been going on with Chris and I over the last month or so. We recently moved into an apartment in Arlington Heights, IL with our dog, Rio, and our new cat, Odysseus (who we really just call Cat or Kitty Cat). I recently started my first teaching job at a middle school. So far it has been very challenging, but I love the kids! I co-teach at the 7th grade level, which means there are two teachers in the classroom at all times to provide the support that our students need. I have also taken on a coaching job at the school. I am coaching the 6th and 7th grade girls' basketball team. I am learning a lot in the process. So far, we have lost one game and won one game. Hopefully the winning trend continues! We have a lot of work to do. Chris has also been incredibly busy with the first month of his first year of law school. He takes the train into the city every day (except Friday, when he studies all day) to attend classes. So far he has gotten fantastic feedback from his professors! He earned one of the top grades in his class on his first law school paper. He is also continuing with his job at the law firm in the evenings when he gets back from the city, so he is always home late. He is doing really well with it, though, which I thoroughly expected. He can handle a lot, so I know he'll do well!

Giving this a try

So I got this idea from my sister-in-law, Tara, who does such a great job of keeping everyone in the loop with her's, Ben's, and Tayah's lives. Since Chris and I are living in Chicago now, I thought this would be a great way to share what is going on in our lives with the people that we care about the most. Hopefully I'll be able to find some time to keep this blog up!
